Laylac Center, in coordination with Bard College – Abu Dis, hosted twenty-five students from various disciplines to learn about the community in the Dheisheh Refugee Camp. They were also introduced to the programs, nature, and philosophy of Laylac Center as a grassroots organization. The students were familiarized with the activities carried out by the center, after getting to know the participating students and receiving a detailed explanation about the center, the camp, and its residents. Questions were answered that could guide and assist the students in the future within their fields of study, helping them understand the community and choose a study community that aligns with their academic pursuits. Additionally, they discussed conducting research and future collaboration with the community through a partnership between the center and the university. It is worth noting that the mutual relationship and cooperation between the university and the center has lasted for more than eight years, with numerous joint programs implemented. This relationship will certainly continue, as it benefits both the students and the center’s volunteers.
